Our bright colors of rose quartz, chalcedony, crackled chalcedony, agate, quartz, crackled quartz, aventurine, cobra stone and moss agate sell all the way through to the bottom of the bin. Sales slow by over 50% when the only stones left in a bin are brown, grey, tan and white and you won’t find those color stones in the Squire Boone Village Gemstone Super Mix. Retailers will see sales increase double, even triple, when selling SBV Gemstone Super Mix.
Service: One huge benefit you give your buyers over Village Originals is that they have YOU! Village Originals does not use sales reps, which immediately reduces their price because they’re not paying commissions.
Free Shipping: Domestic shipping costs have drastically increased and we’re seeing upwards of 30-40% in some cases. Our free shipping threshold has actually been reduced since the start of the pandemic, from 200 pound minimum for free shipping to only 150 pounds.

We’re excited to announce that popping candy is back in the Shock Your Buds Test Tube Candy lineup in the Squire Boone Village catalog! Below is an email that will be sent to our customer database tomorrow with the announcement and the ordering details for the delicious popping candy that they’ve been missing for the past year. In preparation for the launch, we’ve compiled an FAQ to assist you when working with your buyers in bringing popping candy back to their in-store lineup.
1. Why were the Popping Candies removed from the Squire Boone Village Catalog? About a year ago, equipment at our supplier exploded (literally) and the company had to stop producing popping candy. We’ve spent the past two years working with a popping candy factory to develop our proprietary colors and flavors in Turkey (the popping candy capital of the world!). Our new popping candy has an unbelievable pop and fizz, delicious flavors and the supplier is reliable!
2. Can I mix candies on the same Bubble Action Display? The simple answer is no. However, we recommend that you mix candy that theme together; but, never mix any other candy with Formula Sour. Formula Sour Test Tubes and Sprays outsell the other Shock Your Bud candies by a ratio of 10 to 1. The volume is so strong, that Formula Sour Test Tubes and Sprays command their own real estate in-store and mixing other varieties dilutes that power. When you add a second or third Bubble Action Unit, customers are more likely to buy two candies: Formula Sour plus another test tube candy option. Formula Sour will always be part of the sale. Over the years, we’ve worked with retailers to understand how the candies in the Shock Your Buds line sell best and we’ve definitively learned that our test tube candies sell best when they are displayed either by theme or type of candy. If different kinds of candy are mixed on the same display, customers can be overwhelmed and aren’t able to easily discern the options, resulting in decreased sales. To properly mix candies on one display, make sure your buyers stick to a theme. These pairings work best:
Jurassic DNA and Dilophosaurus Spit
Moon Crater and Lunar Ice
Gorilla Candy and Electric Eel
All Popping Only
Formula Sour – never mix with other candies except always mix Formula Sour Test Tubes and Sprays!
3. My buyer wants to carry multiple Shock Your Buds candies, how should they display them? To create a WOW factor in store and really draw customers to the Shock Your Buds candies, the most successful retailers have more than one Bubble Action Display, each with a specific and dedicated candy. Having multiple displays keeps the candies organized and easy to shop. Can you imagine being inside a store that has three bubble action displays in a triangle or a row with dynamic, bright bubbles drawing shoppers to them like a magnet? You’ve all seen how the Bubble Action Displays pull people off the aisle at trade shows….the exact same thing happens in-store.
4. What is the best selling Shock Your Buds candy? The #1 best selling Shock Your Buds candy is, by far, Formula Sour Test Tubes and Sprays. Orders for Formula Sour are over double the sales of 2019 and continues to trend up. We are working with attractions currently who are ordering fills for multiple Bubble Action Floor Displays every couple of weeks. One popular theme park in the west is selling thousands of tubes every week and continue to increase their orders, saying they can’t keep it in stock!
5. If Formula Sour is so popular, why offer the rest of the candies? The complete Shock Your Buds line makes it possible to provide stores with candies that are themed to their location. Adding a second, or even a third, Bubble Action Display will cause sales to more than double or triple because the multiple displays bring so much more attention. Sales of the Shock Your Bud varieties provide incremental sales and don’t cannibalize each other. Remember, each display should have its own theme (Dinosaur, Space, Popping, Formula Sour, etc.).

Selling Super Mix during the Pandemic:
We’re hearing that some locations have been hesitant to restock their By the Bagful displays during the pandemic; however, having people choose rocks from a bulk display is no different than picking other items off the shelf and putting them back. There are some easy things stores can do, though, to help mitigate concern and show their customers that they are taking precautions:
Add a box of surgical gloves next to or on the display and require anyone touching the rocks to wear them as they find their perfect rocks and then dispose the gloves when they are finished.
Add hand sanitizer next to or on the edge of the display with a sign to use the hand sanitizer before and after handling the rocks.
It is nearly impossible to spread COVID-19 through bulk rocks but showing customers that you’re mindful and taking precautions gives a great impression and can keep sales moving in the positive direction.

Gem Mining Sluice Program Updates
Outdoor Attractions, Campgrounds, Farm Attractions and Wild Animal Parks are installing our free Gem-Mining Sluices across the country at a furious pace. As the country starts to reopen, attractions are looking for fun and profitable outdoor activities and the Gem-Mining Sluice is a proven winner.
Our Gem Mining Sluice Program now has an annual minimum order of $3,000 across all catalogs instead of $1,000 of mine rough or $5,000 of Squire Boone Village products.
Along with the signed Sluice agreement, to receive a Gem-Mining Sluice, the order must include $1,000 of gem-mining products and $2,000 of other Squire Boone Village products. Price for the sluice outright is $3,500. Most accounts can easily sell $3,000 worth of Squire Boone Village if they have the traffic to justify installing a sluice.
